Village of Evendale
Special Council Meeting
August 5th, 2014
The Village of Evendale Special Council Meeting was called to order by Mayor Don Apking at 5:30pm.
Roll call- The following council members were present: Mayor Don Apking, Mr. Bill Puthoff, Mr. John Ranz, Jr., Mr. Richard Finan, Ms. Catherine Hartman, Mr. Jeff Albrinck and Mr. Chris Schaefer. Also present: Dave Nichols, CFO Cynthia Caracci and Barb Rohs, Village Clerk.
Presentation of Ordinances and Resolutions:
The Mayor presented ORD. #14-44 ORDINANCE APPROVING A TRANSFER IN THE GENERAL FUND FROM THE RECREATION DEPARTMENT TO THE POOL ACCOUNT AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. Discussion: Mr Ranz and Mr. Albrinck are disappointed that this shortage of funds was not brought to their attention before tonight. The reason for the transfer is Kim Pielage is not working the hours helping the concession manager this year and spending her time on the Fun in the Sun coordinator. A concession manager was hired to do her duties. Also, there was a overlap of swim team coaches. Mr. Ranz stated that the program has less swimmers and more coaches than ten years ago. Only six will be hired for the 2015 season. A motion to read ORD #14-44 by title only was made by Ms. Hartman, seconded by Mr. Albrinck and
unanimously approved on roll call. A motion to suspend the second and third readings of ORD #14-44 was made by Mr. Finan, seconded by Ms. Hartman and unanimously approved on roll call. A motion to agree to the emergency section is made by Ms. Hartman, seconded by Mr. Albrinck, and unanimously approved on roll call. A motion to adopt ORD #14-44 was made by Ms. Hartman, seconded by Mr. Finan and unanimously approved on roll call. Mayor Apking declared #14-44 adopted as an emergency.
A motion to adjourn into executive session to discuss personnel matters was made by Mr. Finan, seconded by Mr. Albrinck and unanimously approved.
A motion to adjourn was made by Mr. Schaefer seconded by Mr. Puthoff and unanimously approved.
Meeting was adjourned at 5:55pm.
